Capturing ‘La Course des Dix Milles Tours’

April 14, 2025
During the first weekend of September 2024, I had the opportunity to watch and take photos at La Course des Dix Mille Tours at the legendary Paul Ricard Circuit in the South of France. As a Formula One fan, seeing cars in action on a real circuit was an incredible experience, and it deepened my fascination with this world.
Shooting with my Fujifilm XTVII, I aimed to capture how Porsche seamlessly blends elegance into their cars, especially their vintage models. The pre-race routines of each driver were equally captivating—the ritual of putting on a helmet to enter a racing mindset, the focused conversations between coaches and drivers. Even at an amateur level, with many non-professional participants, the tension and pride of driving such machines were palpable.
The car featured in most of my shots is a 1965 Porsche 911 Short Wheel Base. Later, I refined the images in Lightroom, adjusting the settings and converting them to black and white to enhance the timeless elegance I wanted to convey.
